This page describes what it means to practise as a Licensed Life Coach.
For an overview of how licensing works, see Pathway to Licensing.

It is for people who want to work as a Licensed Life Coach within the Hegeman Coaching framework.

Licensing reflects alignment with a defined way of working
It does not involve employment client assignment or guaranteed work

Licensed Life Coaches operate independently and remain fully responsible for their practice and client relationships.

What Being Licensed Means

Licensing indicates alignment with the Hegeman Coaching framework and its standards for clarity of thinking responsibility and conduct in coaching work.

It provides a shared foundation for how the work is held while allowing each coach to maintain their own style perspective and independence.

Licensing is not a statutory or governmental certification.

Independent Practice and Responsibility

Licensed Life Coaches operate as independent practitioners.

Clients choose their coach directly
Coaching engagements are entered into independently between the client and the coach

Hegeman Coaching does not assign clients manage coaching engagements or guarantee work
Responsibility for professional decisions client relationships and outcomes remains with the coach

Licensed Life Coaches may be invited to collaborate more closely within the framework
Promotion or commission based activity is optional and offered on a case by case basis

The Licensing Process

Licensing follows a defined pathway.

The pathway begins with training designed to support readiness for practising independently within the Hegeman Coaching framework.

Completion of training does not automatically result in licensing
Licensing reflects readiness to work independently and alignment with the framework’s standards

Relationship to Personal Courses

Licensing is part of the professional pathway and is separate from the personal courses.

Completion of personal courses including the Master Course does not replace any part of the training and does not provide credit exemption or priority within the licensing pathway

Training as Part of the Pathway

Training is the entry point to the licensing pathway.

The training focuses on integrating the framework into coaching practice and developing the capacity to practise responsibly and independently.
